Hope

I attended the funeral of a young man today. I did not know him personally, but I know his father. I went to offer my condolences and support the family. The young man took his own life. Two things I observed about the day. First, the Church was not big enough to hold the number of people who came to attend the service and pay their respect. Yet, this young man quite possibly lost sight of how many people loved and supported him and his family. The second thing is a slight rain began as the funeral procession drove slowly to the grave site.  While I did not attend the burial portion of the funeral I did notice it stopped raining and the sun came out around the time the funeral procession must have been arriving at the burial. My thoughts at that moment were that if we can make it through the storm the sun will shine again. Somehow, the young man may not have realized that truism either. Rest in paradise young man. And for other young brothers and sisters keep hope alive. When there is hope in your future there is power in your present.

Now go and tell someone you love them. They may need it now more than ever.
