I woke up this morning and discovered it is raining where I live. The rain is good for the grass, shrubbery, flowers, and trees. I appreciate the rain as a gardener (Did I just call myself a gardener?); I appreciate the benefits of the rain to plant life. Besides, it keeps my water bill reasonable.
I have also learned to appreciate the "rainy days" of life. I don't necessarily look forward to them, but I try to learn something from the "wrenches" thrown into my plans or activities. Now, I am certainly glad it did not rain when we rented tents, chairs, and a dance floor for my daughter's graduation party a few weeks ago! So, sometimes you just get lucky or a better word to use is blessed.
What about you? Are you flexible? Do you have a contingency plan when you are planning for a sunny day and it rains on your parade? If I plan to do yard work and it rains then I try to find something I can work on in the house; something else productive. Even catching up on some much needed rest is not a bad idea. If you get laid off from a job then it might also be a good time to learn some new skills during the same period you are unemployed and searching for a new job. What's the saying, "When Life Gives you Lemons...Make Lemonade!"
It's your choice.
Remember: "To enjoy the rainbows, you gotta go through some rain."
