This year's work in my yard has been interesting. I have received many compliments about the yard as I shared the work I performed each week in order to have it ready for my daughter's graduation party. The party was a great success and the yard looked great; however, through that process not only did I have the yard ready in time, I also learned quite a bit about "reaping what you sow."
You see, I found out that there were little to no short cuts to yard work. Planting the flowers and other shrubbery was only the start of the process. It also required a daily commitment of nurturing, weeding, speaking with knowledgeable people on the best types of flowers to plant to get the results I was looking for.
The same is true of life. We can plant ideas into our heads but that's just the beginning. Then we have to nurture, weed, consult with knowledgeable people and perform almost daily activities in order to help our ideas or dreams grow into the reality we want.
I plan to use this Blog to share some of the things I've learned about gardening and relate them to life experiences as both a record for myself and to share some of my observations with other interested people. I am also looking forward to your comments as we go along and hope to learn from you too! So, check back often and let's grow together. Our journey together begins today. You may find previous post on this Blog informational; however, in most cases they are unrelated to what I hope to share beginning today June 14, 2011.
