“We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”

As I turn 55 years old today I still look at life in wonderment. The way the seasons change; how fast babies become young men and women. As I reflect on my life, I appreciate my uncle Aubrey who helped me get my first job. I started working with computers in 1973 and bought my first new car at the age of 18 the same year; some people thought I was drug dealer, lol. Wrong! I just saved $1000 to put down on a $5500 Pontiac Firebird. I remember owning an answering machine in 1975 and people were afraid to leave a message. Can you hear me now? Back then the technology was relatively new. I bought my first computer in 1981. I remember having a MCI Email account in 1987 and no one to Email because it had not caught on yet. I was the project leader for installing the first Email system at my company in 1990. I still enjoy electronics, computers, music, movies, photography, and a good book.

I practiced and taught Karate; one of my former students is in the Guinness Book of Records. I still love discovering and playing with new gadgets: iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Tivo, Kindle, Wii, and Roku devices. Don’t worry, if you don’t know what they are now you soon will. More importantly I love God, my family, and people. After all, life is a people business. I remember my wedding day and the birth of my daughter. My wife and daughter are more precious to me than silver and gold. And last, but not least… thanks mom and dad for loving me enough to give me life – with God’s blessing. I aim to make the best of it; I’m just getting started!
