Wow, it's been cold here in the Northeast. My old car died on a cold and snowy morning so I was forced to buy a new one after 121,000 miles and 10 years of ownership. I bought a 2007 Camry. It's the Motor Trend Car of the year.

What I am really excited about is the remote starter that I had installed along with an alarm and the Lo-Jack vehicle recovery product. With Lo-Jack, you notify the police if you discovery your car stolen and they can activate the Lo-Jack device in the car and pinpoint it's location in minutes, providing a greater chance of recovering it. Most professional thieves steal a car and park it for a day or two to ensure it is not being tracked by Lo-Jack. After a few days they return to get the stolen vehicle and then dismantle it or ship it to wherever.

With the remote starter you can start the car as far away as a football field so that is warmed sufficiently for you to just get in it and drive away on a cold day. Alternately, you can start it and have the air conditioner cool the car down in the summer before you enter the vehicle.

The Camry comes equipped with an auxiliary jack for an iPod or other MP3 players, pumping the sound directly through the car stereo. Now I just have to get my satellite radio installed in the new car! Stay tuned! (Did I really write that, lol).
