Happy Holidays!
I enjoyed Christmas with about 40 close family and friends and had a wonderful time! A few of the electronic toys my wife Valerie bought me include another Tivo DVR, a 80 GB iPod along with an iPod HomeDock unit and a new programmable universal remote. So here is how I hooked them up:
Tivo DVR
I swapped the Humax Tivo DVR with DVD burner from my bedroom to the cable box for the kitchen. This allows me to play DVDs and Cds on the kitchen TV as well as view pictures and play music on the kitchen TV from my computer. What makes this hot is that the cable box and Tivo are located in the basement connected via wire to the LCD TV in the kitchen. Emmitters are used to transmit the remote control signals to the units downstairs. I could not have done it without my friend Andrews help. I put the new Tivo box in the bedroom. It does not contain a DVD player but I didn't need it since my BOSE 3-2-1 unit has a built in DVD player. The great thing about the new Tivo 80-hour device is that it is free after you receive the $200 rebate with a minimum 1-year Tivo subscription.
80 GB Video iPod along with an iPod HomeDock Deluxe unit
I connected my new 80 GB iPod to my component receiver via the HomeDock Deluxe. Now I can control the iPod via a remote control and menu on the TV and play it through the stereo. I loaded EVERY photo I've taken since 2003, stored on my computer, to this new iPod. Wow! It also contains every music CD I own!
