Simply Sheila

Simply Sheila

A little love can go a long long way.
When you smile at someone that may be the very thing to lift their spirits that day. Taking time to listen, may give them strength as they travel along the way. A real big hug or a gentle little kiss, can be the very thing a person just may miss. When you take time out for others and forget about yourself. You just may find that you're the one with an abundance of wealth. To show some love is a simple thing to do and the one who gets blessed most of all in the end will be you!!! ♥♥♥

Simply Sheila♥

by Sheila M. Jackson
It's a New Year and with it comes challenges, so accept them. You may face some opposition, let it serve as a catalyst to push you forward. Jealousy and envy make come on the scene, just show them what your working with and they'll really be green. (lol) Gossip and lies should be no surprise, keep moving forward and pay them no mind. (Yes I said it, old school style) It's not what's been said in this little quote but it's all about holding onto a thing called HOPE. ♥♥♥

Happy 80th Birthday Dad - December 8, 2011.

Throughout my life I have looked to you for guidance on what might be expected of me as a man, a son, a father, a husband, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, a grandfather, a friend, an employee and a provider. Through it all you have been consistent; you have remained rock solid and a near perfect example for me to follow.

As a son you lovingly looked after your mother ensuring that even in her final years of life she received the best care. As a husband you have enjoyed 57 years of marriage to my mother and continue to enjoy your golden years together. I can see in my mother's eyes that she still adores you. As a dad my siblings and I have never wondered as children if we would eat, have a place to live, or clothes to wear. You provide wisdom and patience, but more importantly demonstrate through your actions how we should conduct ourselves-- with dignity and respect. You quit smoking at the age of 40, started an exercise regime, and began to exercise better food choices around the same time. That along with annual doctor visits has helped you maintain a robust and active life, and that has not gone unnoticed by me. You cook, clean, provide transportation to my mom. So much so she has not driven in 50 years and has earned the nickname "Miss Daisy" (smile). You made sure mom could care for her mother in her final years.

You recognized that each of your offspring required different things from you and so you met those needs where they were at. You love your grandchildren, nieces, nephews as well as all of your family and do what you can to support their efforts. And they love you too! I watched you deal with the health issues of my brother Danny and his eventual passing. I have never seen such anguish in your face or heart, and yet you never faltered in remaining strong and optimistic, and a believer in God.

So make the most of today and I will see you in a few hours to spend time with you on your special day. I and others plan to attend the celebration Candice has lovingly planned for her Pop Pop on Saturday. You are deserving of all of the love and accolades you have received over the years and continue to receive at your golden age of 80.

Happy Birthday Dad! I love you!
